The clue is in the name ‘social’ media. How socialable can you be with someone if your don’t know their name. I know an awful lot of business owners are hell bent on pushing their business and product and don’t care too much about the social side of their marketing. But they are completely missing the point.
We need to be socialable on social media networks, we need to create relationships where people feel they know us. You must have heard the adage that people buy from people who they know, like and trust.
In light of the above, I’d like to request (if you haven’t done so already), that you complete your Facebook Page owner details. I love networking on Facebook and I love to use a person’s name whenever possible. It makes my comments and interactions so much more personal. It’s simple to do.

Very useful post. Beautiful booklet too! Great tip for page owners. It is as important as having it the other way round: link your personal profile to your page. Especially useful when at fanpage parties where you are required to post as a person.
This way (page to owner) Is needed when advertising your page on printed material and people won’t know who the owner is. Only problem is the admin is not always the owner, isn’t it?

Hi Veronica
Many thanks for your comment.
Yes you are right, lots of pages are managed by someone other than the business or page owner. Maybe Facebook will eventually change it so we can select our own title. They are always tweaking so you never know
